The Skara Brae Exhibition is Coming to Skara Brae!

Hello Orcadians!

I’m very excited to announce that the Skara Brae exhibition is officially coming home to Skara Brae for the summer! In a few weeks time Kieran, Aaron and I will be taking to the road and returning to Orkney to set up our film and exhibition for a 6-8 week run in the Old Ticket office onsite at Skara Brae. The old ticket office is the wee building with the flagpole you can see at the top of the poster.

If you can’t make it up to Orkney this summer don’t despair,  in the next few weeks I’ll be setting up the exhibition online right here on the blog, so you’ll be able to crank up the volume, turn the lights out and experience the film and read through our exhibition narrative from the comfort of your very own desktop!

In addition to the exhibition, on Friday the 24th May at 5pm we’ll be giving a talk about the project at the Orkney College UHI in Kirkwall  – where cakes will of course be provided to further enhance your enjoyment of our presentation…

So feel free to download the poster below to share and be sure tell your friends, your family, your colleagues, your granny, your bus driver, to come along and visit our exhibition this summer from May 25th onwards.

Exhibition PosterThe project marks the culmination of my major PhD case study and I’m really looking forward to taking the work back up to Orkney almost a year to the day since we first embarked on this project! We really couldn’t have done all this without the help of so many excellent folks up in Orkney and down here in Glasgow/Edinburgh, so when the film goes live in a couple of weeks time be sure to soak in the acknowledgements reel at the end.

See you in Orkney soon!
